Monthly Newsletter |
||||||||
| The primary way First Teacher keeps in touch with parents of children who have not yet entered kindergarten is through our newsletter. First Teacher discusses issues of parenting including discipline, raising self-esteem, taking care of your relationship with your partner, the importance of reading, preparing your child for a new sibling, health issues, children's activities, preparing your child for kindergarten and ongoing information about programs available to parents in our area. These monthly newsletters inform parents of school district parent meetings and other local programs available to families of young children. | ||||||||

Developmental Cards |
||||||||
| First Teacher sends developmental cards to parents when their child is 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54 & 60 months. These cards let parents know what they can expect from their child at each developmental stage and give hints on how to help the child at each stage. Besides helping parents know what to expect, the cards also inform parents of sources of help if they are concerned about the child's progress. The developmental cards can be used to record the child's development for the parents to keep for future reference. | ||||||||

Other meetings may be about subjects such as Talking with Your Baby, Discipline, Discovering Your Child's Emerging Personality, Stress Management (for you and your child), and Helping Your Relationship with Your Partner. | ||||||||
