Current First Teacher Programs

Bremerton First Teacher - Began in September 2004.

Dayton First Teacher - Began April 2001. Published by the Columbia County Interagency Coordinating Council. Funded by the Columbia County Public Health District.

Ocean Beach First Teacher - Began October 2005.

Ocean Beach School District

Port Angeles First Teacher - Began October 1995.


Port Angeles School District

Sequim First Teacher - Sequim pioneered the First Teacher program in 1990. Parents in the area who had children that were not yet in school were mailed a newsletter and developmental cards. Some meetings were set up so parents could meet others with young children who would go to school with their child. The program continues to expand and now reaches 800 children and 1173 parents.

West End First Teacher - Published by the Crescent, Cape Flattery & Quillayute Valley School Districts. With funding through Crescent, Cape Flattery & Clallam County Local Government Initiative Funds and Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest.
